“Don’t tempt fate with the effigy,” well it doesn’t matter
The imaginary world was meant for such thoughts anyway
They say “Now it’s just immoral,” nah
I know that these infinite possibilities will never be real
Standing here, feeling the cool breeze in my hair
I’ll stay on the lookout for psychological warfare²
I’ll fight off the iconoclasts, show you a brand new world
A universe up to you where you can go anywhere
Let’s see this wild and wonderful show together
The idols will guide you through the twists and turns of life
Join me by this shore and
Come indulge yourself
It’s a wonderful night
We will keep you safe
Come carve out a new life
Free of the cult’s pressure
Their misdeeds will be exposed
We will keep you safe
Look over at the horizon and witness the attack
I’m trying to set the record straight, but they keep coming
They say “Now it’s just immoral,” and it threatens the hearts
Of those who fear the punishment
They view us as leading a life of sin
Tearing down the images of the sky, the earth, and beneath
No experience to be allowed save for the singular truth
When all suffering is cured with one path to salvation This vanity campaign to heal and protect
It’s a crusade oblivious to the reality of life
Join me by this shore and
Come indulge yourself
It’s a wonderful night
We will keep you safe
Come carve out a new life
Free of the cult’s pressure
Their misdeeds will be exposed
We will keep you safe
I’ll keep doing what I do, and I hope you can too
For it would be the greatest shame if you let them get to you
So hold your head up high and know that our efforts are succeeding
All around us are former puritans we’ve redeemed
Join me by this shore and
Come indulge yourself
It’s a wonderful night
We will keep you safe
Come carve out a new life
Free of the cult’s pressure
Their misdeeds will be exposed
We will keep you safe Commentary
Shortly after arriving at the Land of Diverging Realities, my journeys would take me to a town by the sea, where I would meet Clementine. The harbor was always busy there. They sang of an ongoing war against a group called "Airi", for Clementine believed it to be a cult.
Back then, I sided with Clementine even though I didn't care for the main topics up for debate. I only cared about the differing attitudes around morality and evil. After all, I was still worried about the world seeing me as "evil", and it was nice seeing people celebrate what makes them happy even when those things are viewed as immoral.
After listening to Clementine, I continued walking and managed to overhear a very interesting conversation. Someone mentioned that Airi was getting upset over incest in Greek mythology. Everyone had a good laugh about it. Then, someone joked that they were going to be in an uproar over the Book of Genesis.
